Don’t forget PLNC on Give to the Max Day
This Thursday is Give to the Max Day, when Minnesotans come together to support their favorite nonprofits and charities.
We hope Prior Lake News Compass (PLNC) is at the top of your giving list. Your donation will help ensure fair, unbiased local news will continue to be available for all local residents. Options to give can be found below.
Donate to PLNC!
Give to the Max Day is Thursday and we’ll be ready to receive your donation. Go to GiveMN.org, fill in the requested information and your donation amount, and your gift will be doubled. Thanks to a national matching funds program that runs through Dec. 31, each donation of up to $1,000 will be matched to a maximum of $15,000, extending your help and support even further.
Here’s how your contribution will be used:
PLNC is seeking $100,000 in donations by the end of 2025 to help us grow and become sustainable into the future. Community support is crucial to achieving that goal. Each donation will be used to meet the budgetary needs of our nonprofit corporation, such as:
Hiring a full-time editor and part-time reporters to cover all the government, school, youth and general news that keeps Prior Lake residents aware and connected.
Adding a part-time sales and fundraising professional to make sure funds are available to meet our expenses.
Covering the ongoing cost of insurance, one of the costliest items in our budget. -
Paying for the software needed to create and distribute our weekly newsletter and host our website.
Meeting other business expenses for accounting, supplies and community outreach.
![]() | Thanks to generous donors, we’re making progress…Since our fundraising campaign began on Nov. 1, a number of your friends, neighbors, local service organizations and others have stepped forward with generous donations. To date, we have already raised $20,900 in November as part of our fundraising campaign when we account for the matching funds we will receive. Won’t you join them and keep local news part of our community? |
Donations are tax deductible and can also be made using the direct donation link that can be found below. Checks may be mailed to: Prior Lake News Compass, PO Box 75, Prior Lake, MN, 55372.
If you have contributed in the past, thank you. We ask that you continue to support the Prior Lake News Compass during this critical period when contributions are doubled. For those who have not yet made a donation, know that it is our ongoing commitment to provide information about local news, schools and city, public safety and events well into the future.
Please help us to ensure this essential public service continues for the Prior Lake community.
