Both Laker hockey teams will compete in this year's Hockey Day Minnesota being held at Valleyfair.

Lakers to compete in Hockey Day Minnesota

The Prior Lake Laker girls and boys hockey teams will be skating against other high school teams during Hockey Day Minnesota 2025.

Considered the premier high school hockey event of the winter season, competition and other festivities will take place at Valleyfair in Shakopee. Games will be played each day, Jan. 22-25.

The Laker girls team (10-6-1) will face Eden Prairie at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23. The Laker boys, 6-7-1 on the season, will play on Friday, Jan. 24, against Lakeville South at 7:30 p.m.

Several college and other high school teams are also scheduled to play during the event, which will include concerts, food and other concessions. General admission tickets start at $39, while a four-day pass costs $139.

MVTA expanding direct services in PL

The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority will expand its point-to-point Connect service to everyone living within its Prior Lake/Shakopee zone. Beginning Jan. 13, riders will be able to use an app to book rides between destinations for $3 per trip.
